Ducted air heaters for insertion and intermediate installation
We supply ducted air heaters in all types, sizes, capacities, voltages, and materials—fully customized to your requirements. Backer also offers a standard range of both square and round duct heaters. Our duct heaters are manufactured in-house at our production facility in Europe. The standard range of round and square duct heaters is often available from stock.
Custom-built duct heaters, made to specific customer requirements, are subject to a minimum lead time. Our standard models consist of a spiro duct with a heating element and a control box, both produced in-house. We typically stock heaters ranging from Ø100 mm to Ø400 mm, with power capacities from 500W up to 12kW. For custom-built duct sections, we use materials from carbon steel up to stainless steel 316L. Our heating elements are generally made of AISI316Ti and have a diameter of Ø16 mm, but Incoloy or AISI304 are also available upon request. Other diameters can also be discussed. Explosion-proof versions are available as well!

Backer Wilson produces a complete range of square and round duct heaters, fully customizable in type, size, power output, voltage, and material. Our standard products consist of a spiro duct with a heating element, complemented by our in-house manufactured control systems. For this application, our heating elements are typically made of AISI304 with a diameter of Ø12.5 mm, though AISI321 and other materials are also available upon request. We maintain stock of heaters ranging from Ø100 mm to Ø400 mm and from 500W up to 12kW.
As with most of the products Backer Wilson supplies, these duct heaters are not standard off-the-shelf items. They are built to order in our own workshop in Europe, the Netherlands, specifically tailored to your installation. However, our standard duct heaters are – with consultation – available from stock. For custom-built duct heaters, a lead time is required to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, precisely manufactured product. Over the years, we have seen our duct heaters frequently used in combination with heat recovery systems, WCS (warm-cold storage) systems, climate control installations, and ventilation systems. Naturally, Backer Wilson also offers these duct heaters in an explosion-proof version.
